About
I’m Dan Hanuška from Prague. I build and operate network monitoring stacks and offer their deployment, extensions and support as paid work. I also run networks for small and medium companies.
Experience
- Network manager, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (since 2024). I run the faculty network: Cisco routers and switches, Wi-Fi, optical fibre, Linux servers and ClickHouse databases.
- Software tester (2022–2025). Mobile and web applications, bugs worked through with developers in JIRA.
- Studies: Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague.
What I work with
- L2 and L3 switches and routers, VLANs and routing
- Wi-Fi networks and WLC controllers
- IPFIX and NetFlow flow export and collection
- ClickHouse for storing and analysing flow data
- Grafana dashboards
- Docker and Docker Compose
- Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, Proxmox)
How I work
A demo edition of my monitoring stack is on GitHub, so you can see how I build things before we talk. Production deployments in client networks are the paid part of my work.
Outside work
Sport and travel keep me focused and patient, which helps when a network problem takes time to track down.
- BasketballBasketball runs in my family. I play actively and follow the NBA.
- SurfingAs soon as I am by the sea, I look for a board. I spend more time in the water than on a wave, but that is part of it.
- Ice hockeyI like watching it and sometimes I play too. I am a much better fan than player.
- TravelI like getting to know new places, people and local food.
- CookingI cook at home a lot and like trying new recipes.
